For a successful energy transition, millions of new solar panels, wind turbines and EV charging points have to be integrated into the power grids. As a consequence, planning and operation of the grids becomes increasingly complex. envelio provides the Intelligent Grid Platform: a digital assistance system that supports distribution grid operators in their workflows with regard to planning and operation of power systems with high shares of renewables.

The key element for digitizing and automating grid planning and operation processes is a validated data basis. The IGP connects previously isolated data systems (such as GIS, ERP, measurement data) and uses Machine Learning algorithms to correct data errors and create validated grid models across all voltage levels.
The Intelligent Grid Platform provides several applications to automate typical grid planning processes. This includes e.g. assessing new connection requests for generators and loads, identifying cost-effective grid expansion measures or carrying out comprehensive stress test for future supply tasks in the grid.
The Intelligent Grid Platform provides detailed information about the current and future grid state in real time. For this purpose, the IGP uses interfaces to the control system and measurement devices in the grid. In the case of imminent bottlenecks, the IGP determines cost-efficient measures for a congestion
management.
